Neymar only lasted eight minutes in Brazil’s friendly match with Cameroon on Tuesday due to a thigh injury.
He was replaced by free-scoring Richarlison who plays for Everton. Sad night for Captain Neymar as he could not last long in a match as a captain.
His injury would be a concern for PSG as fellow club star Mbappe too was injured the same day on international duty for France.
Brazilian team physio that treated Neymar did not say the severity of the injury when they were interviewed by reporters. They said: “He felt a discomfort on the right side of his groin region. He complained and underwent an early assessment, but he already began his treatment. It doesn’t seem serious at first, but we should wait and see how he develops.”
Elsewhere Kylian Mbappe also suffered injuries to his shoulder as he was brought out in the 30th minute of his country’s match against Uruguay.
A pass from his teammate sent him forward to goal as he speeds toward Uruguay goalkeeper Martín Campana. The goalkeeper saved the ball cleanly from Mbappe’s legs but had him fall to the ground hurting his shoulder.
Although Mbappe wanted to continue the match, his coach forced him out.
The injuries to both Mbappe and Neymar will worry PSG as they look to continue their nice form in the league and try to qualify from a very tit group in the Champions League.
