Yakubu Dogara, the Speaker of the House of Representatives declared
Juan Antonio Hernandez, who is the brother of the President of Honduras and former lawmaker in the country was recently arrested in Miami’s airport for drug trafficking. The local media of Honduras immediately reported it.
In his reaction the President of Honduras did not shield his brother rather in a conference he said that everyone should be “responsible for his own actions” and that his government would “fight against corruption and crime without distinctions.”
This is not the first time his brother has been accused of drug trafficking. Back in 2016 he was accused of Drug trafficking and the President said then that “no one is above the law,” and therefore he should pay for his crimes.
The President’s went further to say: “This is a heavy blow for the whole family, I hope the justice system gives him the room to defend himself, and as a family, we will do what we can to support him.”
Hernandez is not the only high profile to be accused of drug trafficking as former President Porfirio Lobo, was also linked to the drug cartels that are facing trial in the US.
